Here are the details for this event: We will leave Friday, as soon as possible after middle schoolers are out of school and ready to roll. Please get ready Thursday night so we can get to the forest before 8 p.m. on Friday. Don't wait to pack at the last minute and make us late. We will camp at the Salt Springs Campground in the forest. We will set up a tent for boys and another for girls. On Sat., Feb. 8 we will drive the rest of the way to Ravine Gardens so that we are there by 9 a.m. for the air potato roundup. They provide gloves and bags to collect the potatoes. You need to pack long sleeves and long pants to avoid scratches from the bushes. If you are prone to sunburn, a hat and sunscreen is a good idea. Admission to the park is free, since we are helping fight an invasive species. The first 100 participants get free t-shirts. Bring a small pillow for Friday night. I have sleeping bags, tents, etc. You just need to bring personal items. Please pack as light as possible so we have room in the car. You are only sleeping over one night. We will return home Saturday night. There will be a link to a packing/gear list in the comment section below.
soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, sanitary supplies, towel, money for food, camera,
clean socks, underwear, long pants, shorts,, shirts, hat, flipflops or crocs , shoes, rain poncho, windbreaker
The above list is all you should really need for this trip. The next link is a gear list for a full weekend or long. Don't worry following it this time. I am posting it only for future reference.
